The National Immigration Agency announced the winner teams of “Multicultural LOHAS Innovation Action Plan Competition Program” (多元文化樂活創新行動方案競賽計畫) and presented them with their prizes on March 18. Each winning team received a subsidy of up to NT$80,000. From among them, 3 outstanding teams were also specifically chosen, and as an added incentive, a bonus of NT$6,000 yuan was given to each team.

NIA is undertaking this program for the first time in order to fully exploit the multiculturalism of new immigrants and their children and to put into practice the principles of the "International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD)". There are 37 participating teams. All participants must pass the courses "Multicultural Theory and Practice," "Introduction to ICERD," and "Scheme Design and Implementation" before 10 teams with a combined membership of 41 people are chosen as the winners. Professional tutors were expressly arranged throughout the implementation phase, and each team overcame challenges to successfully complete the 2-month program practice.

They came from Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Burma, Malaysia, and mainland China. A cross-cultural practice plan is stimulated by using curriculum teaching in schools, community events, or planning fairs. This allows the general public to personally experience foreign food, clothing, music, dance, and games, etc., to understand different cultures, to close the gap between them, and to convey respect for diversity.
