Taipei International Choral Festival this year features top choirs from four countries

The "Taipei International Choral Festival" (TICF23) will take place this year from July 28 to August 6 at the Taipei National Concert Hall and in six counties and cities, including Kaohsiung, Hsinchu, Tainan, Pingtung, Taichung, and Yunlin. Four renowned choirs from around the world will be invited to toured with the Taipei Philharmonic Chorus.

The Taipei Philharmonic Foundation for Culture and Education has been the host of the Taipei International Choral Festival since 1996. Four well-known choirs from across the world, including the UST Singers from the Philippines, A Capella Boaziçi from Turkey, KGBL Chamber Choir from Slovenia, and ZERO8 Male Choir from Sweden, have been invited to perform in Taiwan this year. The four-group choir will perform a variety of genre, including classical, contemporary, folk, jazz and pop.

Young conductor Bao Hengyi (鮑恆毅) will be served as the inaugural concert's guest conductor, leading the Taipei Philharmonic Chorus and the Taipei Philharmonic Youth Orchestra in performances of timeless pieces. Additionally, Gábor Hollerung will conduct the almost 300-person ensemble that sang Mendelssohn's masterwork "Elijah" for the concert's finale. The ensemble included the Festival Choir, Taipei Philharmonic Chorus, Taipei Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, and KGBL Chamber Choir.
