The Philippines' history as a colony has allowed the native cuisine to evolve into a gastronomic culture that mixes Asian and European elements. Philippine Department of Tourism-Taiwan is hosting an event (菲律賓美食饗宴) to bring Filipino food to more Taiwanese people. To allow everyone to enjoy the Philippines' rich culinary heritage, a variety of authentic Filipino traditional meals will be made available starting on May 10 every weekend.

According to the director of the Philippine Department of Tourism-Taiwan, various classic Filipino foods were especially selected for Taiwanese to sample during this event. One of director's favorite is "Sinigang," which Taste Atlas named the world's tastiest vegetable soup. Other favorites include Bicol Express, Kinilaw, AdoboMaya Bistro, Pansit Palabok, and "Sisig,"which the New York Times called "the best pork dish on earth," etc.

The sweetness of the veggies and the sourness of the tamarind are what define traditional and distinctive soup meals from the Philippines. The soup is prepared with veggies, tamarind, green mango, and meat or fish. Let this be the pleasant impact of soup in the hot Philippines. It was named the greatest vegetable soup in the world by Taste Atlas in 2021, and it quickly rose to become the most well-liked and affordable national cuisine in the Philippines.

The New York Times has described "The Best Pork Cuisine on Earth" as well. The "Sisig" dish, which is supposedly a national delicacy of the Philippines, is a variation of Spanish-style pork salad. It is minced and combined with onions and pig ears. After being enhanced with the addition of chicken liver, pig's scalp, and pork belly, it is consumed as a salad with kumquat juice. It is swiftly fried, put on a hot iron pan, and then seasoned with little kumquats, which is well suited for Taiwanese tastes.
