The new second-generation Liu brothers and sisters who are currently studying at Jiuhu Elementary School in Tongluo Township, Miaoli County, were selected by the Immigration Department's "9th Dream-Building Project for New Immigrants and Their Children", so the two can continue to learn piano. National Immigration Agency also believes that the two may enable their mother from Vietnam to participate and incorporate music into their everyday life. The Liu brother and sister like music, but there are few opportunities and resources for them to study it. And they can finally fulfill the ambition of learning the piano thanks to the Project. They claimed that they never imagined having the chance to learn the piano. They were completely incapable of doing so at first, but they are now able to teach their moms and grandmothers how to play basic pieces.

The principal (陳秀卿) of Jiuhu Elementary School explained that a community member's kind donation of a used piano over the summer break the previous year allowed the school to engage a piano instructor to teach. The Dream-Building Project of NIA allows the Liu brother and sister to continue their piano learning among the many other students.

The “Dream-Building Project for New Immigrants and Their Children” of NIA has entered its ninth year and will continue to support new immigrants and their children in realizing their dreams in Taiwan and participating in society, according to the director (張金順) of NIA Miaoli County Service Center.
