Nantou County Service Center of NIA invited immigrant families to visit enterprise & join Mochi DIY activities

To enable more immigrants to understand local cultures in Taiwan, Nantou County Government and National Immigration Agency (Nantou County Service Center) organized an event – immigrants visiting enterprise.

A total of more than 50 immigrant family members participated in it. Besides, the Director of Civil Affairs – Wu Yan Ling (吳燕玲), and the Executive Officer of Nantou County Service Center – Chen Jin Miao (陳金妙) also attended the event, making Mochi together with immigrants.

It is hoped that through the guided tour, attendees would be able to get to know more about Taiwan's rice and mochi culture, as well as the hard work behind the scenes. While making mochi, the activity also brings the family members closer together. More importantly, everyone can learn the importance of multiculturalism which assists immigrants to integrate into our society.

In addition, Executive Officer Chen also further promoted the “Carefree Covid-19 Vaccination Program” and “Keep African swine fever at bay”, allowing immigrants to have a better understanding of Taiwan’s national policy and their rights and interests.

At present, the service hotline for foreigners living in Taiwan has been changed to “1990 Helping You Now”, providing instant services in 7 languages, including Chinese, English, Japanese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai, and Cambodian. Foreign nationals are encouraged to make use of the services.
