
Regarding enrollment and application for foreign students from all levels of institutions in Taiwan: Due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, the National Immigration Agency will launch the system "Foreign and Overseas Chinese, Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau, Nationals without registered households" on August 1. This allows students to apply online reducing the risk of going to public places.
The National Immigration Agency provides students with opportunities to study higher education levels in Taiwan. Once you have applied for a residential visa at the foreign embassy, you are now eligible to apply for a residence permit through the online application system.
Qualifications for applications: must possess foreign nationality and never possessed the nationality of the Republic of China, must possess proof of admission / or proof of enrollment and registration.

The National Immigration Agency (NIA) provides students from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Overseas Chinese and Foreign students, with opportunities to study in Taiwan. The online application system for residence permits will be launched on August 1. The New UI No. for Foreign Nationals was implemented on January 2, 2021. The ID number (2 English letters + 8 digits) was established by the NIA Global Information Network. The "New UI No. for Foreign Nationals" portion found on the website shows relevant information (policy instructions, Chinese and English FAQs, and other multilingual information).
