The 8th Dream-Building Project for New Immigrants and Their Children

To assist new immigrants and their children with the pursuits of their dreams, the ‘8th Dream-Building Project for New Immigrants and Their Children: Call for submissions’ organized by the Ministry of the Interior National Immigration Agency (NIA) starts from today till December 31 (Friday)! This year, the dream-building project is categorized into 5 dream themes and the grant-in-aid of NT$80,000 is provided. New immigrants and their children are welcome to sign up as soon as possible!

Objectives & Achievements over the years

To help new immigrants and their children realize their dreams and share their passion for social participation and dedication & contribution to the family in the form of videos, NIA has been organizing this project since 2014. About 300 groups of participants have fulfilled their dreams through the ‘Dream-Building Project’ and it is hoped that the public would have a deeper understanding of new immigrants and their children.

Registration period & selection result release dates

Registration period: From now until December 31, 2021 (Friday)

Announcement date: It is expected that ‘Application & Review of supporting documents’ will be announced in mid-January 2022 and the ‘Winners’ will be announced in late January 2022.

Themes for registration

Registration Instructions

  1. Project theme: Topics related to 5 major themes, including ‘Entrepreneurship and Marketing’, ‘Education, Learning, and Art’, ‘Multimedia and Digital Technology’, ‘Social Service’, and ‘Environmental Protection & Sustainable Development’. (The exact topic can be decided by the participants)
  1. Locations of project implementation: In Taiwan, including offshore islands.
  1. Project content: Write dream-building plans based on 5 major themes.

Registration Eligibility

Target Audience:

 

New immigrants: ‘Foreigners who have or had married to Taiwanese’, ‘stateless people’, ‘people from China, Hong Kong or Macau’, ‘People who have naturalized as Taiwan nationals’ and are legally residing in Taiwan or have household registration in Taiwan.

 

New immigrants’ children: The children of the aforementioned new immigrants who have household registration in Taiwan, are living or studying in Taiwan. If there are special circumstances, it will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

 

The maximum number of participants is 5, of which 2 must be new immigrants or children of new immigrants. In addition, to expand the effectiveness of the implementation of the project, those who have participated in the previous years of the project and have received the grant-in-aid are not allowed to sign up or be listed as members of the project.

How to register

Participants must complete the online registration and mail the registration form and project plan to the NIA. Both procedures must be completed for successful registrations. To ensure that the information is correct, the content reviewed will be based on the physical documents.

  1. Online registration

One must first log in to the online registration system of this project and fill in the registration information. Registration websites: Download & Fill in the registration form and project plan template on the Ministry of the Interior National Immigration Agency Republic of China (Taiwan): www.immigration.gov.tw or IFINetwork: https://ifi.immigration.gov.tw

 

2.Physical documents

After completing the registration form and project plan, please use a paperclip to attach the registration form, project plan, together with the Household Registration Transcript of the new immigrants or children of the new immigrants issued within 3 months, and other supporting documents that can prove participants’ identity. (Documents need to be attached in this order)

Send the physical documents by registered mail to the Immigration Affairs Division of NIA ‘The 8th Dream-Building Project for New Immigrants and Their Children’. Mailing address: 5F., No. 15, Guangzhou St., Zhongzheng Dist., Taipei City 100213, Taiwan (R.O.C.)

 

  1. Notice

The registration period is based on the Postmark date of the mail. Mails that are overdue for submission will not be accepted (the documents attached will not be returned afterward).
