Taoyuan City, following up with Taipei and New Taipei City’s announcement, bans all on-site dining and drinking starting from May 24. Restaurants, beverage shops, mass merchandisers, supermarkets, etc. are forbidden to be used inside and taken out. Offenders will be fined NT$3,000 to 15,000.

Taoyuan mayor Cheng Wen-tsan mentions the recent cluster of covid cases in Taoyuan shows that the pandemic is not over yet. Therefore, Taoyuan decides to tighten the Covid prevention measures. Taoyuan has already conducted a second disinfection operation. Cheng urges the public to follow prevention measures to stop the coronavirus from spreading.

Important epidemic prevention measures in Taoyuan:
- Transparency of the epidemic situation, timely notification of the inspection results.
- From now on, taxis will adopt the real link system. Restaurants, beverage shops, mass merchandisers, supermarkets, etc. are forbidden to be used inside and taken out. Offenders will be fined NT$3,000 to 15,000.
- Home quarantine and home isolation are adjusted to 1 person 1 room (separate room and bathroom).
- Suspension of cultural activities such as the aboriginal rituals and harvest festivals.
