Chiayi County Government continues to propagate to new immigrants, migrant workers and other ethnic groups, do not bring meat products from abroad, do not buy meat products of unknown origin online, and ask foreign relatives and friends ship them to Taiwan. Violators will be fined up to NT$1 million, those who are unable to pay will be refused entry.

National Immigration Agency appeals to new immigrants and migrant workers to inform their relatives in hometown not to ship seasonal meat or processed foods contains meat to Taiwan. in addition to the relevant penalties for the sender, the recipient will also be fined NT$200,000 or NT$1 million.

The website reminds the public that the Spring Festival is the peak period for sending animal quarantine items illegally. The airport will use quarantine dogs and X-ray machines to prevent African swine fever from entering the country. If you find suspicious meat products from unknown sources, please contact the Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan.
