To provide citizens and tourists with a memorable Chinese Valentine's Day, the Taichung City Government has launched a 4K high-definition real-time streaming service, offering a new "cloud travel" experience. Whether it's enjoying the magnificent sunset at Gaomei Wetlands or the romantic Wanggaoliao night view, known as Taichung's version of Hakodate, everyone can now travel online without time or geographical constraints and share romantic moments.Romantic Night View at Wanggaoliao. Tourism Bureau Director Chen Meixiu pointed out that Taichung boasts many popular dating spots, including the internationally renowned Gaomei Wetlands. Nearby, there's the Mitsui Outlet Park, where couples can ride the Taichung Star Ferris wheel and enjoy the beautiful sea views of Taichung Harbor. For couples who love romantic nightscapes, Wanggaoliao Night View Park is the best choice, where they can even appear on screen alongside the 4K live broadcast, capturing memorable moments with friends and loved ones.
Director Chen added that besides Gaomei Wetlands and Wanggaoliao, Taichung Park is also a nostalgic dating spot for many old Taichung residents. Couples who enjoy retro vibes can experience the "old-fashioned sweetness" by boating and appreciating the century-old park's scenery. By following the "Play Taichung" Facebook page, liking and sharing the Valentine's Day event post, and uploading beautiful photos taken at Taichung Park in the comments, participants have a chance to win retro-style film cameras and Sun Cake gift boxes from Taiyang Tang.
The Tourism Bureau mentioned that since the 4K real-time streaming at Gaomei Wetlands and Wanggaoliao was launched two years ago, it has garnered over 1.76 million views. Through this 4K cloud travel experience, the Taichung City Government aims to showcase Taichung's unique charm to people everywhere, allowing them to enjoy this special day filled with love and beautiful scenery.
